Chahinkapa Zoo
Chahinkapa Zoo is located in Chahinkapa Park. The zoo is home to more than 200 animals, including 70 species such as Bengal tigers, snow leopards, zebras, grizzly bears, kangaroos and snow leopards. It has a petting zoo with various farm animals and is also home to the Prairie Rose Carousel, built in 1926.
Chahinkapa Zoo’s goal is to provide education about wildlife and conservation and provide high-quality care to the animals in a natural setting.
The zoo is open from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. daily from May 1 through Labor Day and from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. September through Oct. 27. During November through April, people can tour the zoo by appointment.
Admission is $6 for adults, $2.50 for children and $5.50 for seniors. Children 3 and under get in free. For more information, call the zoo at 701.642.8709.
