Headwaters of the Red River
The Red River of the North begins at the Minnesota Avenue West Interstate Bridge between Wahpeton, N.D., and Breckenridge, Minn. Welles Memorial Park is nearby. The Red River headwaters is the point where the Red River, the Dois de Sioux River and the Otter Tail River all meet.
There is access to boating and canoeing at the Headwaters Park located on Minnesota Avenue in Breckenridge.
