Prairie Rose Carousel

The Prairie Rose Carousel is a fully restored 1926 antique carousel open to the public for rides daily from Memorial Day through Labor Day at the Chahinkapa Zoo in Wahpeton. The carousel is one of 150 wooden carousels still operating in the United States. It has 20 wooden horses and two chariots.
Roger Jensen and Jim Oliver, both Wahpeton found and restored the antique carousel. Lonnie Halverson and Delores Berg were the main artists in charge of restoring the antique. It was put together and complete by Oct. 15, 1992.
