    Angelique’s Arbor

    This small park contains several benches and flowers designed for people to sit and relax, read or talk with friends. It is named after Angelique Bourcier Martin, who was one of three French Sioux women who originally owned most of the land which is now Breckenridge, Minn. The park is located on Fifth Street in Breckenridge.

    Flower garden and gazebo

    This park is located in Breckenridge, along Minnesota Avenue between Fourth and Fifth Streets North. About 800 petunias are planted here each spring by volunteers.

    Jefferson Park

    Jefferson Park is located on 10th St. S. and Dakota Avenue in Breckenridge. The park has a playground, picnic shelter, restrooms and softball fields.

    Kidder Recreation Area

    Kidder recreation areaKidder Recreation Area is located in north Wahpeton near our 1621 and 1631 Eighth St. North apartments. The park is 26 acres with garden plots, an arboretum, picnic shelters, restrooms, showers, a Frisbee golf course, campsites, fishing, canoeing and boating access. The park is home to Wahpper, the world’s largest catfish. Wahpper is 40 feet long and 8 feet tall.

    Campgrounds are available at the park for $25 per night. Tents are available to rent for $10. To make a camping reservation, call the park at 701.642.2811.

    Kid’s Corner

    This park is located at Seventh Street South and Chicago Avenue in Breckenridge. It has a picnic shelter, basketball courts and playground equipment.

    Lion’s Park

    This park is located on Highway 75 just north of the Otter Tail river in Breckenridge. The park has a playground, restrooms, a picnic shelter and access to the river. A monument at the park explains how Breckenridge was burned in 1862. For more information, call the park at 218.642.2811.

    Lloyd’s Park

    Lloy’d park is nine miles north of Breckenridge on Highway 75 and then a mile west on County Road 18. The park has a picnic area, flower garden, bank fishing and a boat ramp.

    Oxcart Trail Park

    Oxcart Trail Park is named after the wagon wheel rut trails left behind from early pioneers. It is located in northern Breckenridge just west of Highway 75. It is west of the Breckenridge Dairy Queen. The park includes a playground, basketball courts, softball fields, restrooms and a picnic shelter. The park is handicapped accessible.

    Railroad Park

    Railroad Park is located on Minnesota Avenue near the Cinema 6 theater in Breckenridge. The park has a renovated caboose, railroad monuments and a flower garden.

    Richland County trail system

    Two hundred miles of groomed snowmobile trails link nearly every city in Richland County. The trails are managed through the Adopt-a-mile program and more than 200 members of the Southern Valley Trail Riders. The Richland County trail system is groomed weekly.

    Riverview addition playground

    This park is located on Wilkin Avenue and Vine Street in Breckenridge. It has a basketball court, a softball field and playground equipment.

    Rotary Park

    Rotary Park is located on Main Street in Breckenridge near the Otter Tail River. It has a picnic shelter.

    Skating rink area

    A skating rink is available in the winter at Sixth Street North and Beede Avenue in Breckenridge. It includes a lit hockey area, open skating areas and a warming house.

    Welles Memorial Park

    This park provides camping and picnic shelters along the intersection of the Red River and Otter Tail River. It is located at Second Street North and Nebraska Avenue in Breckenridge, Minn., about a mile from our 401 Third St. N. apartments, our 621 Third Ave. N. apartments and our 720 Dakota Ave. apartments. The Wilkin County Fair takes place at Welles Memorial Park, as well as Headwaters Day. The Three Rivers Performing Stage often features historical pageants. This park also has a horseshoe court.
